Sinevibes has released ZAP, a new free mini-synth plugin available for MAC OS controlled by incoming audio.
How Zap works?! It starts with an envelope follower that tracks the peak energy of the sound and then applies it onto the frequency of a monophonic oscillator.
This plugin feature three different oscillator waveform modes and envelope stepping that can turn any sound source into dynamic synth sweeps, sub-basses, blips, chirps or glitches.
The user interface has a clean, nice looking color-coded design and also support Full Retina resolution. With a subtle animation and a live output waveform, Zap is very friendly and very pleasant to work with. Thanks to hardware-accelerated rendering, Zap is very fast and responsive even on older, lower-end Macs systems.
- Signal envelope follower with variable lag time and curve, plus level stepping feature.
- Three oscillator modes: pure sine, ring-modulated sines & phase-modulated sines.
- Realtime output waveform display.
Zap is compatible with Logic Pro, Live, GrageBand, ReNoise, MainStage, Reaper, Studio One, Digital Performer, Tracktion and other music software that support Audio Unit plugins. Zap is available for free download via Sinevibes website in 32/64 bit format.
