Steinberg company has announced the availability of the 9.5 updates for the Pro, Artist and Elements versions of their Cubase DAW.
The biggest advancement in Cubase 9.5 mixing capabilities is the new mixing engine: 64-bit floating-point resolution is designed to deliver uncompromising audio-editing performance, and provide detail and transparency.
The newly integrated file browser Zoning 2.0 provides quick access to media files, including pre-listening, as well as import projects.
One of the highlights of Cubase 9.5 version is the new metronome with the ability to assign your own patterns, which are adapted to the time signature changes in the bar line, so it’s much more effectively.
Among the most important innovations of the new version are the ultra-precise automation curves. These curves also benefit from automation tracks generated by VCA faders.
The internal very popular effect plug-ins Vintage Compressor, Tube Compressor and Magneto III have been redesigned regarding the user interface and the workflow.
In addition, the metering section has been expanded along with master and loudness displays, so that the cue and monitor mixes can always be accessed in the Control Room section.
In the 64-bit mixing engine, the number of insert paths has also been increased to 16 slots.
The popular sampler HALion Sonic SE 3 has been implemented with the new FLUX Wavetable Synthesizer, which also offers 100 presets and 70 waveforms of modern sounds.
The signal flow of the Waveforms can be followed on five tabs and modulated by a complex routing matrix.
Worth mentioning is also the new video engine, which wants to replace the QuickTime technology by new codecs. In addition, among other things, the sampler track for MIDI and audio files has been improved, and the new selection area tool for automation has been added.
Cubase Pro 9.5 is available for 579 EUR. The artist version for project studios and professional musicians is available for purchase for 329 EUR. Home recorders, musicians, and bands can purchase Cubase Elements 9.5 for 99 EUR.
