Radical Keys by Reason Studios

Radical Keys by Reason Studios is a versatile electric piano Rack Extension that brings the authentic sounds of three iconic instruments—the Rhodes Mk1, Wurlitzer, and Pianet-T—directly into your Reason Rack. Utilizing the advanced Radical Engine, it combines high-quality sampling with physical modeling to capture the unique character and nuances of these classic keyboards. This hybrid approach allows for a highly customizable and expressive playing experience, making Radical Keys suitable for a wide range of musical styles and production needs.

One of the standout features of Radical Keys is its ability to blend different signal paths, including clean line recordings, amplified signals, and ambient room mics. This flexibility enables users to craft sounds that range from pristine and polished to warm and gritty. The Character knob further enhances sound shaping by adjusting sympathetic resonance and envelope settings, allowing the instrument to sit perfectly in any mix. Additionally, users can control mechanical aspects such as key and pedal noise, adding an extra layer of realism or creative texture to their performances.

Radical Keys comes equipped with 101 expertly crafted presets, providing instant access to a variety of tones suitable for genres like jazz, soul, funk, and beyond. The built-in effects chain, featuring tremolo, compressor, overdrive, EQ, phaser, chorus, and ambiance processing, ensures that each preset is ready to play right out of the box. Recorded at Sveriges Radio in Stockholm by a Grammy award-winning engineer, Radical Keys delivers not just the sound but the soul of these legendary instruments, making it an essential tool for any producer or keyboardist seeking authentic electric piano sounds.
