IK MULTIMEDIA – T-RACKS TAPE ECHO

Warm Echoes from the Past

The Tape Echo is a meticulously crafted reproduction of the iconic Echoplex EP3 tape delay, a beloved classic that first emerged in 1969. Quickly embraced by musicians and guitarists, the Echoplex EP3 set the standard for delay effects with its distinctive sound.

At its core, the Tape Echo operates on a traditional analog recording principle. An incoming signal is captured by a tape head and recorded onto a 1/4” magnetic tape. A subsequent tape head then plays back this recorded signal, creating the signature delay effect. The delay time is adjusted by varying the distance between the two tape heads.

IK Multimedia’s Tape Echo faithfully emulates the unique analog character of the original, incorporating the nuances of class A electronics and magnetic tape. It provides modern flexibility and power, including BPM-syncable delay times, stereo operation with independent delay lines, and complete automation for enhanced control over your sound.
