A Legacy of Sonic Excellence

Introduced in 1951, the Pultec EQP-1 was the pioneer of passive filter circuit-based program EQs. The original design featured passive filters that, while innovative, resulted in some gain loss. This issue was resolved in the EQP-1A version, which incorporated an output makeup gain stage using 12AU7, 12AX7, and 6X4 tubes. This upgrade not only compensated for gain loss but also contributed to its rich, euphonic sound.
