Cherry Audio’s Yellowjacket synthesizer is a modern homage to the iconic 1978 EDP Wasp, renowned for its distinctive hybrid analog/digital sound. Faithfully emulating the Wasp’s unique oscillators and signature filter, Yellowjacket captures the original’s character while introducing contemporary enhancements.

With over 270 professionally designed presets, users can explore a diverse range of sounds, from sizzling leads and atmospheric pads to deep basses and intricate arpeggios. The interface also replicates the Wasp’s touch-capacitive keyboard, now augmented with diatonic scales, transpose functions, and support for expressive channel and polyphonic aftertouch.

Beyond its authentic recreation, Yellowjacket expands creative possibilities with innovative features. Its multi-voice modes introduce per-note variations by adding up to three additional “mini synth” panels, each with independent controls for pitch, pan, filter frequency, and envelope settings. This allows for subtle to extreme tonal variations, simulating the effect of chaining multiple synths together. The advanced arpeggiator, equipped with humanize and probability controls, enables the creation of evolving, dynamic patterns.
