Atomika
Atomika is Cherry Audio’s advanced emulation of the Polivoks synthesizer, originally manufactured in the Soviet Union between 1982 and 1990. This software synthesizer, developed by sound engineer Vladimir Kuzmin and designer Olympiada, incorporates circuit-modeled DSP designs by Mark Barton, enhancing the original Polivoks features. Key upgrades include extended filter options with controls like Starve, Filter Drive, and Amp Drive, along with new filter modes such as highpass, notch, and peak response.
Additionally, Atomika has upgraded from duophonic to 16-voice polyphony and introduced unison oscillator stacking, along with an expanded LFO that features more waveforms. Enhanced performance features, including velocity, tracking, aftertouch, pitch, and mod wheel response, provide greater versatility. The synthesizer also boasts a flexible arpeggiator and four studio-quality effects: Phasor, Flange/Chorus, Echo, and Reverb with a dedicated effects LFO.
With over 350 professionally crafted presets and extensive MIDI mapping capabilities, Atomika successfully merges classic character with modern innovation, appealing to both synthesizer enthusiasts and contemporary producers. An introductory video by Cherry Audio and Tim Shoebridge offers further insights into Atomika and its heritage.
