Pro Tools 12 delivers new flexible licensing options, allowing customers to subscribe by as little as $29.99 per month, or to buy it outright. This flexible licensing now provides artists with access to the same tools used by the top industry pros, at a price point they can afford.

17 new plug-ins and nine new plug-in bundles are now available in the Avid Marketplace and as in-app purchases in Pro Tools.

Avid also announced the Pro Tools | First, a free version of Pro Tools 12, with some limits.

No release date has been offered on Avid’s website, it is just announced as ‘coming soon’, but they will have to release it within 3 months now they have made a formal announcement at NAMM 2015.

If you own Pro Tools 11 you’ll automatically get Pro Tools 12 for free, plus one year of future updates, upgrades, and support.
