Keith McMillen Instruments releases K-MIX, a new next-generation audio interface and programmable mixer for studio and stage, fully compatible with Mac OS X.
“I needed a very special mixer that did not exist — a fully-programmable, MIDI-controlled, ultra-high-quality portable mixer. Not having a mixer that could do all of this when wanting to play live in a group without a sound man was heartbreaking. K-MIX had to be capable of tying all of my needs together — from live inputs to USB interfaces — to then operate as a fully-programmable stage mixer.” – says Keith McMillen, the company founder.
…So they managed to create an audio interface, digital mixer, and control surface like no other. The final product features two ultra-accurate, low-noise μPre™ preamps, a precision opto-tactile control surface designed from the ground, four rotary controls, nine channel select buttons, one master fader, four bank select buttons, and 17 function buttons.
- Input Channels: 8 Balanced Inputs, Signals up to +28dBu
- Output Channels: 10 Outputs (8 balanced)
- Bit Depth: 24-bit AKM Converters •110dB dynamic range
- Sample Rate: 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz
Note that K-Mix is not compatible with Windows operating systems. K-Mix will function as a MIDI device when connected to a Windows computer, but audio I/O functionality is not supported.
K-Mix will be available priced at $579 via Keith McMillen Instruments website and also if you have the chance you can see it at The NAMM Show 2016 in Hall A (January 21-24 in Anaheim, California).
