Korg has released the iWavestation app for iOS devices (iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch), bringing the legendary Wavestation synthesizer introduced in 1990, which was already part of the Korg Legacy Collection, to the iPad and iPhone.
The Korg Wavestation from 1990 combined the wave sequencing (Wavesequencing) with the vector synthesis of four sound generators. This allows the crossover of the voices of several oscillators.
Waves can be “traversed” in different ways, creating special, lively timbres that stand out from the mass of the digital synthesizers of that time.
iWavestation mobile iOS app features all the original parameters, even the PCM programs are reproduced in detail and optimized for a touch-sensitive interface, also it’s compatible with the original Wavestation unit.
According to Korg, the editing structure was retained with the iOS version, while a new graphical user interface should provide more user comfort.
This new app includes a stupendous number of 1,500 sounds, more than 700 waveforms, 55 effects, and a powerful random sequence engine.
iWavestation app can be used simultaneity with the “KORG Gadget” a popular music production DAW that over the time has received many appreciations and awards.
The Korg iWavestation app runs on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch and requires iOS 9.3 or later. The app is priced at $19.99 and is available via App Store.
