Focusrite company has released a series of third-generation Scarlett audio interfaces. One of the interfaces of the updated line is the popular 2i2 model, designed for mobile use and entry-level studios.
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen supports sample rates up to 24-bit 192 kHz, offers high-quality sound with a low level of audio signal delay and has improved technical characteristics. The device has 2 new preamps with gain up to 56 dB and the Air function, which emulates the sound of the legendary ISA preamps manufacturer. The Air mode itself can also be found in the audio interfaces of the older Focusrite line – Clarett.
The 2i2 front panel contains gain controls, INST / AIR / 48V / Direct Monitor buttons, headphone volume control, and a common volume knob. The switching capabilities of the interface are represented by two combined XLR / TRS inputs, a headphone output, 2 TRS outputs for studio monitors, and a USB-to-C port.
The sound card comes with a large set of programs, which includes: Avid Pro Tools First, Ableton Live Lite, XLN Audio Addictive Keys, Softube Time and Tone Bundle, Focusrite Red Plug-in Suite, Focusrite Plug-in Collective. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen is available for purchase in stores for 170 EUR.
