Fabfilter company announces their new version of Pro-Q equalizer plugin. The Fabfilter Pro-Q 3 plug-in is a professional dynamic equalizer for Windows and Mac capable to lower or raise frequencies – bass, midrange, high – above a certain threshold – a very dynamic EQing is the result. Furthermore, the plug-in will also receive surround support and other mid/side options. Further details are not yet known.

The major update finally delivers after four years also Dynamic EQ functions, surround support and mid / side support per band! Equalizer Pro-Q 3 offers up to 24 bands, and for each of them, we can regulate a number of parameters, such as channel, characteristics, border frequency, GAIN or goodness.

The GUI has also been updated and now even has the ability to display all frequency spectra of open instances in a project simultaneously. We also have different ranges of information displayed, depending on whether we use a mastering or mixing corrector.

The centerpiece is still a large, interactive equalizer display, in which numerous frequency bands can be generated. Even several tapes can be selected and edited at the same time. Bell, cow tail and high and low pass filters are available with a selectable slope.

In addition, the plug-in can operate either latency-free or as a linear-phase equalizer (with adjustable latency). Hum or disturbing resonances can be detected via the internal spectrum analyzer. MIDI learning and a comparison function are also included.

The virtual equalizer Fabfilter Pro-Q 3 will be available for 149 € and runs as a plug-in (VST, VST3, AU, AAX, AudioSuite) under Windows and Mac.
