Bitwig is releasing an update to its digital audio workstation (DAW) Biwig Studio, that adds new sound effects and other features.
Version 4.2 has three new effects: Chorus+, Flanger+, and Phaser+. Each of these modulation effects offers four different sound modes with their own DSP architecture. In addition, it is possible to animate the algorithms by mixing and matching their internal LFOs with step sequencers and any of Bitwig’s 38 modulators. The effects are also available as Grid modules.
Bitwig Studio The Grid has been enhanced with the new Note Grid, which combines the Poly Grid and FX Grid as a third device. It is reported that Note Grid is designed for processing and creating notes and has full access to 184 modules and the polyphonic structure of The Grid. It includes eight presets such as arpeggiators, polyphonic randomness, drum sequencers, and more.
Other innovations include new Note Out and Hard Clip modules, updated Oscilloscope and Spectrum, as well as a new Channel-16 modulator and anti-aliasing option.
Bitwig Studio DAW is available as a beta for all owners of a licensed Bitwig Studio. The official release is scheduled for March 2022.
