Arturia announced the release of their BeatStep Black Edition and MiniLab Black Edition, for its already well-known hardware controllers: BeatStep and the MiniLab.
What’s new with this “Black Edition”? Well, BeatStep and MiniLab controllers are available now with a dark look and additional software.
Let’s get into details…
Arturia packed its controllers with an extra collection of software. BeatStep Black Edition is bundled with Oberheim SEM V synthesizer software which emulates the original Oberheim Synthesizer Expander Module® (SEM). Besides this synth software, it also includes Arturia’s Analog Lab (with 6000 presets from Arturia’s legendary synthesizers virtual recreations) and the Grand Piano Model D virtual instrument by UVI. Last but not least, BeatStep Black Edition comes with Ableton Live Lite music software. BeatStep also received a firmware update (v188.8.131.52), including new features like “Preset Rest” and “Full Reset”, new improvements like “faster knob acceleration” and better visualization of MIDI Channel on the pad, plus additional bug fixes.
MiniLab Black Edition, also comes packed with more value than before, now includes additional software from Arturia’s Oberheim SEM V, Grand Piano Model D by UVI, and Ableton Live 9 Lite music software.
From what you observed, both controllers come bundled with the same software, you choose which suits better for your musical projects, a controller sequencer or a controller keyboard.
Black Edition gives you extra software titles for the same price as a regular edition.
