Akai iMPC app has so far only been available on the iOS device until a few days ago when AKAI has announced the availability of their AKAI MPC app on Android, at this moment just for Samsung Galaxy mobile devices (tablets and smartphones – where is much better optimized – eg. the new Galaxy Tab S3).
I am sure that things will not remain so, soon other owners of Android phones and tablets will be able to use the application. It is a matter of time.
For those who are new to music making, you should know that Akai Pro’s iMPC is the mobile version of MPC (Music Production Center) hardware.
The app was developed in collaboration with Retronyms, a leading iOS, and Android App developer.
The functionality is similar to the standard iOS version. With more than 1200 samples, 50 editable programs, 80 editable sequences and built-in effects: delay, bit crusher, master compressor/limiter.
The app allows you to export your tracks to MPC software, share your track on SoundCloud, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or simply export them to your computer.
The iMPC is the first app to provide the functionality of a classic Akai Professional MPC to a Samsung Galaxy Android device.
The iMPC app is available exclusively for Samsung smartphones and tablets as an in-app purchase in Samsung’s Soundcamp, priced at 6,99 EUR.
