Xenobioz has released Aegis Sonix, a free synth plugin available in VST format for Windows. This free virtual instrument is inspired by the Aegis Sonix, an early software synthesizer for the Amiga.
[box type=”info” align=”aligncenter” class=”” width=”660″]The Amiga 500 – also known as the A500 (or its code name “Rock Lobster”) – was the first “low-end” Commodore Amiga 16/32-bit multimedia home/personal computer released back in January 1987. Source: Wikipedia[/box]The main features of Aegis Sonix free synth are the Drawable Oscillator and LFO waveforms and a special type of Phase Distortion.
Features:
- 1 drawable oscillator (128 samples)
- 1 drawable LFO, that can be used as an envelope
- ADSR with adjustable slopes
- Two types of phase distortion/modulation
- Low-pass filter
- Can add harmonics to the drawable waveform
- Waveform copy and paste
This is the first “emulation” developed by Xenobioz using C++ and Synthedit. Aegis sound very good and the distortion module is very “creative”. Looking forward to more similar releases from Xenobioz in the future.
Aegis free synth plugin is available via Xenobioz website in VST 32-bit format for Windows.
